She doesn't often play a nice girl, but Hillary Brooke is excellent as Lamarr's friend. Her boyfriend, played by George Sanders, falls for the sociopathic Lamarr. Hillary Brooke excelled at playing femme fatales so this was a change.

From snipe on back - The riot continues and Judge Saladino (Alan Napier) is killed. Jenny thereupon leaves her sick husband to be with her best friend, the Judders daughter, Meg Saladine (Hillary Brooke). Townspeople wonder how Jenny can divide her time so casually between a "good" girl like Meg and a "bad" one like Lena Tempest.
